Mupirocin ointment IP Ointment
Mutstic Ointment is a topical antibacterial formulation containing Mupirocin 2% w/w, a powerful antibiotic derived from Pseudomonas fluorescens. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria at the site of infection.
Mupirocin is highly effective against Gram-positive organisms, particularly Staphylococcus aureus, including methicillin-resistant strains (MRSA), and Streptococcus pyogenes. Mutstic is primarily indicated for conditions such as impetigo, folliculitis, furuncles (boils), and infected eczema.
