Amloliv 5

Amloliv 5 mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain caused by heart problems (angina). Amloliv 5 is the active S-enantiomer of amlodipine, which means it provides the same blood pressure-lowering and heart-protective effects at a lower dose with potentially fewer side effects. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the workload on the heart. This helps control blood pressure, prevent strokes, heart attacks, and also improves blood supply to the heart in people with angina.

Common side effects may include swelling of ankles or feet, headache, flushing, dizziness, or fatigue. Rarely, it can cause low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, or allergic reactions.

Used for the treatment of high blood pressure and to manage chronic stable angina (chest pain due to reduced blood supply to the heart).

Take Amloliv 5 mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop suddenly without consulting your physician, as it may lead to a sudden rise in blood pressure or chest pain. Inform your doctor if you have heart failure, liver problems, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol as it can enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect and cause dizziness.

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and use only up to the expiry date mentioned on the pack.
