Atorib 40 Tablet contains Atorvastatin Calcium I.P. 40mg, a high-strength statin used to effectively lower elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. By inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme, it reduces the production of low-density lipoprotein (LDL or “bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides, while raising high-density lipoprotein (HDL or “good” cholesterol). This powerful action helps prevent the development and progression of atherosclerosis and lowers the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular events. Atorib 40 is prescribed for patients with severe hyperlipidemia or those who need intensive cholesterol management alongside lifestyle changes like diet and exercise.

Common side effects may include muscle pain, weakness, headache, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Serious but rare side effects include muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis) and liver dysfunction. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe muscle pain, tenderness, or jaundice.
