Cefproj-100 Dry Syrup is a pediatric oral antibiotic formulation containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil, a third-generation cephalosporin that offers broad-spectrum antibacterial action. It is especially effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, making it a trusted choice in pediatric infections. Once ingested, Cefpodoxime Proxetil is converted into its active form, Cefpodoxime, which works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of the bacterial cell.
This syrup is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections in children, such as respiratory tract infections (including pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and sinusitis), otitis media (ear infection), skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections. Cefproj-100 Dry Syrup is also useful in treating mild to moderate community-acquired pneumonia and bronchitis in children, offering a convenient and palatable oral dosage form.
Its favorable pharmacokinetics, once or twice daily dosing, and excellent safety profile make it suitable for pediatric patients. The formulation is designed to be reconstituted with water, making it easy to administer to children who may have difficulty swallowing tablets or capsules.
